WE ARE GROWING and supporting more single parents with cancer than ever before! We need you in order to stay organized and keep our support effective to the families we serve. This is why we decided to create very specific volunteer job opportunities for individuals who wish to take the LEAD of some of our most important program services.

Manager of Singleton Kitchen

Singleton Kitchen ManagersIdeally this volunteer position would consist of 4 volunteers that rotated the position responsibilities on a monthly basis. Kitchen Managers will oversee all aspects of Singleton Kitchen Meal Preparation event.

Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Managers would work with the Singleton Moms Office Administrator to ensure that meal orders are made by the order deadline.
  • Attend the scheduled Singleton Kitchen event for the month.
  • During the event you would be responsible for informing the volunteers about Singleton Moms, answering questions and working alongside Kitchen staff to ensure the event runs smoothly.
  • After the event you would be responsible for bringing the meals back to the Singleton Moms office for storage.
  • Kitchen Managers are responsible for responding to and scheduling companies/groups/organizations wishing to host private kitchen events.

  • 6-8 hrs during your assigned month

*Monthly Lead Managers would be responsible for receiving Singleton Kitchen hosting requests and scheduling the event for these groups.

Manager of Bare Necessities

Bare NecessitiesIdeally this volunteer position would consist of 6 volunteers that rotated the position responsibilities, in teams of two, on a monthly basis. On the third Saturday of each month the Bare Necessities Drive is held at the Singleton Moms office. Donations are accepted from 10am- Noon. Then Singleton Parents and Care Coordinators come by the office from Noon-2pm to pick up needed household item.

Responsibilities

  • Volunteers would be responsible for creating a contact list of Bare Necessities participants.
  • Update the Bare Necessities list on a monthly basis and send the approved list to participants.
  • Seek out new organizations and groups who would like to become participants of the Bare Necessities Drive.
  • On the third Saturday of each month the Bare Necessities Drive is held at the Singleton Moms office. Each team is responsible for being at the office from 9:30am-3pm.
  • During the drive Managers sort donations by item as they come in.
  • Help our Singleton Parent or Care Coordinator select items and pack them for our parents.
  • At the end of the day, all leftover items will need to be put away and organized in the Singleton Moms store room. The time commitment for this position is 10 hours during your assigned month.

Singleton Moms Community Ambassador

Singleton Community AmbassadorsAttends third party events, exhibits, and other events periodically as a Singleton Moms representative.

These volunteers would help with the day to day office administrative duties such as; correspondence via email or phone, mass mailings, event flyer design, lite research and with training newsletter and grant writing.
