Program Coordinator

This position requires a self-motivated, organized professional who has a passion for service. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day program operations designed to bring hope, help and practical support to single parents undergoing treatment for cancer by providing emotional, financial, and household support, primarily through recruiting and coordinating of team of volunteers who work directly with the families.

Volunteers In Service To America – VISTA

Singleton Moms is so very excited to announce that we have been chosen to be a part of the VISTA program and the recruitment process has begun.

Come February Singleton Moms will welcome our VISTA member to our staff. This is an exciting opportunity for us especially from a volunteer management and capacity building standpoint. This member will strengthen recruitment, retention, and other volunteer management processes for Singleton Moms so the organization may serve a greater number of low-income single parent cancer patients and their children.

Activities will include: researching or assessing volunteer management best practices; developing a volunteer training program or manual; establishing a recruitment, retention and recognition plan; identifying volunteer roles and descriptions; organizing marketing and outreach efforts to promote volunteer needs; conducting site visits to determine community needs; developing program guidelines, policies, procedures; establishing relationships with partners in community; creating a reporting system for program impact.
