About Us

Singleton Moms became a 501c(3) non-profit organization in November 2006. It was founded by two women, Andy Royal and Jody Farley-Berens, two friends moved to action when they lost a wonderful friend, Michelle Singleton, to cancer.
Through their personal experiences with Michelle, Andy & Jody discovered that aid based organizations were few and far between. While there are many groups, charities and organizations battling and researching cancer, there are very few who are actively helping those suffering today. After their dear friend’s passing, Andy and Jody took on an unmet challenge and created a one-of-a-kind charitable organization helping single mothers with cancer.
When a patient is diagnosed and has to undergo chemotherapy/radiation or surgery, they often can’t continue to work, creating an incredible financial hardship. This is especially true for single mothers and their families who often have limited means of outside support. With their energy depleted, even simple chores like cleaning their home or making dinner for their children are too strenuous and can become overwhelming.
Singleton Moms strives to be the missing link for the women on our service. While our moms are focusing on recovery, spending valuable time with their children, Singleton Moms and our team of volunteers helps by preparing meals, housecleaning and financial assistance, easing the stress associated with managing a single-parent household.
